Core Values
Our Core Values
SAGOBA strongly values academic excellence, networking, social integration and professional development of its members.
Academic excellence
As an alumni of St. Georges High School Giriama, SAGOBA strives to support continuously, first and foremost, the academic development of the school. This includes, among others, infrastructure development, support to needy students, school activities (e.g., sports, environmental activities, etc.) as well as mentorship programs to students.
Secondly, as an organization rooted in the society, SAGOBA is party to the academic development agenda of Kilifi County. This is executed by supporting educational projects and programs within Kilifi County at the primary, secondary and tertiary levels.
Thirdly, SAGOBA works with other stakeholder organizations including other alumni associations both local and international in developing strategies, collaborations and galvanization of resources (e.g., funding, materials, etc.) required for achieving academic excellence in Kilifi County.
Social integration
At SAGOBA, we unite interested students, alumni and associates of the St. Georges High School Giriama and promote an environment for nurturing professional and personal relationships. Shared memories and experiences make our members feel at home. Through the association’s inclusive communications and opportunities for engagement, we strive to have an organization where every alum feels that the association is a place intended for them — a place where they belong. A commitment to social responsibility, respect for the diversity of experience and thought among our alums of all ages are key parts of this effort.
Networking
Alumni SAGOBA represents a lively networked community. Through linkages, social networking, online platforms, regular meetings, forums and collaborative activities, SAGOBA provides the catalytic environment for developing ideas and opportunities for personal development. The social support is key to self-identity and discovering the potential and responsibility each has towards the society.
Professional development
We value the professional development of each member. Whether volunteerism, self-employment, teaching or any other regular employment, dreams for start-ups, SAGOBA is the meeting point where ideas are shared. All dreams are valid. The society needs you as a professional to team up with others and support the development agenda.
